. She is a beautiful fairy deserving a special place. This is Ribbon and Stumpwork Embroidery of The Song of the Zinnia Fairy by Cicely Mary Barker 9 1/2" X 12" in a 2" deep Shadowbox. Handmade by me. This picture is very 3-D and deep; the flowers, skirt, and butterfly wings are more than 1 1/2" deep in some places. Much of the ribbon and wire & glitter ribbon is so thick it took pliers to pull the needle with it through the artwork. If you are interested in Ribbon & Stump embroidery, I wrote several how-to articles for Ehow Ribbon embroidery and stumpwork originated in Medieval times. I used more than 20 ribbons to copy the color of Cicely Barker's picture. (Her estate gives written permission in her book to copy and embroider and sell, on a limited basis, her artwork.) I matted the inside of shadowbox with an opalescent glitter two + tone ribbon. This artwork is ready for hanging. I presently have a 9 1/2" X 12" plastic sheet scotch taped to top to keep out dust; but you could easily remove that for better viewing. There is a lot to see in this picture.
