Flight into Egypt by Giotto, Italian-Made Fresco Reproduction on Plaster, 7 1/2 inches x 7 inches x 3/8 inches
Manufacturer: Bottega Artigiana
Brand: Bottega Artigiana
Giotto's Flight into Egypt fresco was begun in 1304 and completed in 1306. It is located in the Scrovegni Chapel, Padova, Italy. The style is proto-Renaissance. The flight into Egypt is a biblical event described in the Gospel of Matthew in which Joseph fled to Egypt with his wife Mary and infant son Jesus after a visit by the three kings (the Magi) because they learn that King Herod intends to kill the infants of that area. Our fresco reproductions are done while the mortar is still wet so that the pigments, drying with the mortar, become permanently incorporated in it. PHOTOS: Opera singer Pavarotti with one of our fresco reproductions; Pope Benedict receiving a fresco reproduction from our director; reproduction of a large fresco we reproduced commissioned by the city of San Francisco; the type and thickness of the plaster we use for our reproductions; metal stand included in each box; back; hook. All frescoes have a wall hook on the back. This fresco also comes in a larger size (6 x 7 ¾ x 3/8 inches) and is listed separately. OUR TECHNIQUE: We reproduce paintings by means of the pictography technique. This method enables us to make reproductions with the same characteristics as a painting. We are located near Perugia (Italy), in Umbria, in the Upper Tiber Valley. Years of research and experimentation in the field of painting and restoration have enable us to return with great precision to the materials and methods used by the masters of the Renaissance to make reproduc...
