This woodland hermit is Sprool. He lives in the wild and cares for all creatures great and small! The 3 little dragons adopted Sprool and he is now their care-giver. Sprool and his pet dragons are sculpted from polymer clay that sits on a wooden base. It was then hand painted in acrylic paints with loving care. Celtic Family Circle The Celtic Family Circle Story The family was the central organizing and political force in the Celtic culture. The Equal status of men and women , each with their own domain, was central. Age was respected and the views of the elders were given the most weight. Children were cherished but expected to yield to the rules of the clan. In the sometimes harsh environment, every family member fulfilled their role for the good of the family. The top two rings show the equal status of the husband and the wife. The lower ring represents the natural dominion of parents over children and their obligation of protection. Sirena del Mare translated means Mermaid of the Sea in Italian. I have always loved mermaids, thanks to Hans Christian Anderson's fairy tale The Little Mermaid. There is no doubt in my mind that they did exist... and maybe still do. Hopefully they are safely hidden from those that would harm them. This unique mermaid art doll was created in several phases. Her face is sculpted from biodegradable eco-friendly paper clay, followed by gesso and then painted gold. Her body was handcrafted with recycled fabrics, yarns, new cotton batting, and threads. Using several textures of yarns in hues of sea greens, blues, purples, moss green and shimmering pink silver threads. Her curly hair is a deep purple with deep green. The photograph does not pick up the violet purple hues of her hair. She is adorned with small mirrors on her body to reflect light. She holds a sea shell wire wrapped with non-tarnish vibrant purple wire. On her back is a pin along with a strand of sari ribbon. Pin on a heavy curtain or pillow. Hang in your favorite room, sacred space or indoor garden. She measures about 12 inches long and 6 inches wide from her tail.
