Several recycled rough-hewn reclaimed Teak planks from old dwellings and community buildings are carved with an intricate Lotus pattern; the pieces are then joined by an external frame attached around the border to make a one piece hanging. This creates extra depth through a recessed main image in a frame. The stunning detail will envelope you; its beauty goes almost 2 inches deep with carved edges curling over the base carving. We lightly sand the carved surfaces to create brown highlights. Livos Light teak oil is applied to seal the wood. Although they do not perfectly match in thickness, the design is carved in such a way as to match closely from panel to panel. Each section is about 12 inches wide and comes with two embedded flush mount Keyhole hangers for attaching to a protruding screw or nail on your wall. The colors will vary naturally, just like the trees from which the wood came many years before varied. All are carved by craftspeople who spend hours shaping, sanding, and finishing these wonders of wood. The talent behind these gorgeous creations is readily visible. We make minimal use of electric hand sanders in the finishing process. All products are dried in solar or propane kilns. No chemicals are used in the process, ever. Each piece is packaged with cartons from recycled cardboard with no plastic or other fillers. Some variations may occur; sizes are approximate. The color and grain of your piece of Nature will be unique, and may include small checks or cracks that occur when the wood is dried.
