King Silk Art makes silk embroidery wall art, 100% hand-stitched by Master Artists in Suzhou, China. Our artwork, Susho, is completely natural, created with tiny needles and pure silk thread. Susho is a 2500 year old family tradition, with a unique and fascinating history. This landscape was inspired by a painting by Tang Bohu, born in Suzhou, China. He lived in the 15th/16th centuries and was a scholar, painter, poet and calligrapher. He is one of the most famous artists in Chinese history. Tang Bohu became a legendary figure, immortalized in Chinese folklore as a romantic scamp and mischievous rascal, called the "Flirting Scholar". A famous Tang Bohu story is about his romance with Qiu Xiang. Tang Bohu was travelling, and saw a procession walking behind a sedan chair. There was a beautiful girl in the procession and he fell in love at first sight. Tang Bohu followed them and found the girl was a favorite slave of the Prime Minister's wife. To woo Qiu Xiang, he wore a disguise and asked the Prime Minister for a job. He charmed his way into a job as a tutor for the Prime Minister's sons. Everyone else loved him, but Tang Bohu annoyed Qiu Xiang. Frustrated, Tang Bohu told the Prime Minister he was leaving for a job that included a wife. Upset, the Prime Minister offered Tang Bohu a big raise and the pick of his wife's slaves to stay. There would be a line up of girls in the main hall the next day. Tang Bohu happily accepted the offer he had engineered. Qiu Xiang outsmarted him, talking the wife into letting her skip the line up. Tang Bohu complained to the Prime Minister when he couldn't find Qiu Xiang. In the end, Qiu Xiang and Tang Bohu were married. On their wedding night, Tang Bohu confessed his true identity and when Qiu Xiang learned everything he had done to win her heart, she melted. The fact that she had married a wealthy celebrity, not a poor scholar, was a nice bonus.

Over the centuries, our canal-filled water village developed into a beautiful city and attracted a large population of aristocrats, scholars and artists. Suzhou was called the Venice of the East by Marco Polo. During Imperial China, Suzhou's wealthiest residents build a series of private gardens that are unbelievably old and beautiful, 69 survived the centuries and today are popular tourist attractions.
These elaborate gardens are enormously popular in China and are a major status symbol. Suzhou's ancient gardens have been restored and are on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Wonderful replicas of Suzhou's famous gardens can be found in the West. Portland, Oregon is Suzhou's Sister City and built Lan Su Chinese Garden, to delight locals and tourist. The Astor Court, located in The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, is a re-creation of a Suzhou-style, Chinese-garden courtyard. And, Darling Harbour's Chinese Garden of Friendship is another fantastic homage.
In Feng Shui, bridges symbolize connection, the strength that comes when two or more things are combined. As in the West, "Bridge Burning" means a relationship has ended badly and finally.
This famous bridge has special meaning, for romantics, it's called the "Matchmaking Bridge". In this case, this bridge is a connection to the heavens, the Guanyin Buddha, the goddess of mercy and compassion. This connection to Guanyin is thought to lead to wealth and success, which is critical for finding the very best mate.

This Marbled Cone seashells came from the Conidae family of sea snails, the originals having a poison lethal to humans. The living occupant is about a foot long and it¡¯s head resides in the small tip of the shell.
In ancient China, seashells coins played an important role in burial rituals. The coin called the cowry was created in the shape of a seashell.
When a Chinese Emperor was buried in those early times, his mouth was stuffed with nine cowries. Feudal lords were buried with seven cowries, high officers five, and ordinary officers three. Common people generally had their mouths stuffed only with rice. But if a
