Her face was hand sculpted with eco-friendly paper clay, and painted with ethereal hued ink sprays of pink, blue, purple and gold. She wears a fresh water pearl earrings with a strand of moss green yarn on one side. On the other side are semiprecious moonstone chips and glass beads. Fresh Water Pearls are the symbol of yin, pure heart and mind; innocence, faith. Of the sea, it has watery and lunar elements, thus balancing emotions, especially for water signs. Absorbs thoughts, emotions. Moonstones are said to be magical, hold memories and dreams. A paper clay Gaia, Mother Earth sits above her head surrounded by moss. Gaia represents Mother Earth, and the blessings of the harvest. Her body was created with gathered sticks from my favorite nature preserve. She wears a dress fashioned from recycled silk sari ribbon in vibrant colors of purple, teal, rose pink and green. This sari ribbon is imported from Fair Trade women's cooperatives in India and Nepal. She wears a cobalt blue gold lamp work glass pendant with a dangling iridescent faceted glass bead. Rainbow flecks bounce in the light from it. She is framed in an upcycled frame adorned with moss. Behind her is a hand-painted abstract design of autumn leaves. The frame has a wire hanger on the back ready to place in a sacred space. A lovely gift to give on Thanksgiving or as a thank you to a friend or loved one. A new take on the Kitchen Witch.
