Roses are red;
Blood is too;
and I went violet with anger in the absence of you.
Then green o'ertook me
at the envious thoughts of you
with that yellow-bellied coward.
I have been blue long enough,
over you,
over something that never was true,
something that was only a rose colored dream.
I rolled with my moods,
from black to gray to a purple haze,
and now I seek
the colors in a new rainbow.
