Traditional Chinese images of children rarely show them playing or being idle. Role models for small children were mature adults, the idea was superior children were literally small adults and could behave with the same "perfection". Aimless play was for ordinary children.
In ancient China, the majority of the people were peasant farmers. Most farming families lived in small villages of about 100 families each. In this bucolic scene three children are helping their parents pick cherries. The chickens and the family boat nearby indicate a prosperous family.

In Chinese culture, dragons are an extremely important symbol, represented extensively in art, poetry and literature. Symbolically, the dragon represents the emperor's role in mediating between heaven and earth.
From the first century B.C., embroidered dragons were popular symbols on the luxurious robes of the emperors and high-ranking members of his court. The emperor, his sons and specially designated high-ranking courtiers were the only people allowed to wear emblems with five-clawed dragons; it was a crime for anyone else to wear those specific dragon designs.
This Dragon Robe came from the last Chinese dynasty, the Chin Dynasty. The style of this garment has the name Dragon Robe, but not all Dragon Robes have a dragon design.

In Feng Shui, trees, forests and forest paths are symbolic of ancient wisdom, the ability to tap into inner resources to navigate life and become wealthy and successful. Images of trees in the home are thought to attract money and wealth.
There is a popular saying in China, if you want a year of prosperity, grow lots of wheat. If you want 10 years of prosperity, grow lots of trees. If you want 100 years of prosperity, have many children. The part about trees is used to describe something very successful, like a tree growing to an impressive height.

Susho is a 2500 year old family tradition, with a unique and fascinating history. The most famous turtle in Chinese legends was named Ao. Ao lived in the South China Sea when the world was being formed. One day, the water god, Gong Gong, destroyed the sky by misbehaving. The creator of mankind, the goddess Nuwa, needed to act quickly and cruelly, to repair the sky, or mankind would not survive. One of her animal victims was Ao. Ao used to have legs like humans do, but Nuwa took them to help prop up the sky. She left Ao's feet, so he could swim. Ao moved to the friendlier Bohai Sea, where he now carries the three islands of the Eight Immortals on his back. Ao's sacrifice was celebrated in the creation of Bixi, a common figure in memorial sculpture, half turtle, and half dragon. In Feng Shui, turtles are a powerful protection charm. Specifically, turtles protect good "Chi" and prevent it from being altered or leaving. Traditionally, one places turtles in the back of areas, room, office or garden. Water is one of the Five Elements of nature, representing control. In Feng Shui, literally Wind-Water, water retains the wild wind. The symbolism of this swimming turtle is complete protection, absolute safety.
