This magical Spirit Being was created by hand sculpting ecofriendly paper clay, then added gesso and several layers of spray ink and paint that dry into ethereal jewel tone hues of purple, pink, blue, teal, gold, and bronze. Inspired by images of Native American Dream Catchers feathers dangle from this piece. Feathers are perceived as gifts from the sky, the sea and the trees. Cascading down from this Meditative Spirit Being's face is a peacock feather wire wrapped with iridescent faceted glass beads. Peacock feathers are the symbol of royalty, compassion, fertility and good fortune. They also represent the Buddhist Bodhisattva Kuan Yin, Goddess of Compassion. One side a mallard duck feather wrapped with Mother of Pearl and milky glass crystal glass beads dangles down. Mother of Pearl sea shell represents the Divine Mother, the sea and is nurturing. Mallard feathers represent fertility. There is a silver Sanskrit Om charm wire wrapped with glass amethyst and bronze beads along with a bronze Buddha charm and glass heart bead. Both sides have gorgeous sari ribbon in hues of ivory, teal, green, purple and blue threads wire wrapped with glass beads. Hand made in beautiful stained glass! Every material I use is made in the USA. Using no plastic, or painted parts this tree topper will make a wonderful family heirloom and will last many decades if well taken care of. I have been making and selling these since 2006 when I gave one to welcome my Jewish sister-in-law into our mixed religion family.....she loved the thought so much, and I am so happy and honored to see many others are also enjoying them! The idea of placing a Star of David atop a Holiday tree has been around for many, many years.....since the early 50's that I am aware of, and probably long before then. Each star takes around 3 hours from start to finish. Each of the 12 pieces of glass are hand cut, ground smooth, foiled and soldered. This listing is for my LARGE version, for a large tree (6-9 feet) and measures 9" diameter. Weighs 5.5 oz. This star uses PALE BLUE for half and COBALT glass for half. (Please feel free to choose another color, I am happy to create a listing for you.) THE SOLDER LINES ARE SILVER. THE BASE OPENING IS 3/4". The wire is securely soldered deep into the back of the star and is not adjustable. If the spike on top of your tree is weak the topper will surely tip. I include care instructions and more tips others have shared to get it to sit perfectly. Package will ship USPS priority, insured mail. Shipping rates are taken from the USPS website.
